From time to time I will have a moment in a day where time seems to sit back and say, "Aww, yes...this is beautiful. Thank you Lord for being so amazing." For me it can be the simplest of times and it just hits me as if a lightbulb came on in the room. Ironically, this moment happened to me today on my way to work.
All I was doing was driving and singing along to the radio and "Everything Glorious" by the David Crowder Band came on. Let's just say...I got really into it :) All of God's creation seemed to stand out for all that it's worth. The clouds, oh, the clouds looked amazing. They looked so big and the purest white you could ever imagine. They were all puffy and billowing in the sky; looking soft, inviting, and definitely revealing God's glory. I love having those breathtaking moments. They are an undescribable feeling and definitely a gift God gives me.
Note to self and all others: Definitely take the time to smell the roses. Marvel at God's creation for it shows us His beauty and His infinitely majestic ways.
Til next time, God Bless :)

Marvelous Light
Picture this: a dark, lightly stormy night where the lightening hides behind the clouds and illuminates the sky. When does this happen? Where does this happen? Well, as far as I can tell it's happened several times this summer in good ole Kansas. The whole show is beautiful, it's absolutely marvelous. I'm so blessed that I get to witness these light shows as I type this.
Earlier today I was also blessed to get to see one of my best friends over lunch. We talked about some bad events that have happened recently in her life and while we talked I realized something; God uses all His children in simple ways. We can and in fact are role models when we don't realize it. This realization kinda hit me, hard. I've been told before that there is always someone watching you even when you don't know it. Someone is always watching every move you make and the littlest out loud thoughts, feelings, and actions can affect a person who looks up to you either positively or negatively.
Now I don't want to make an assumption but the things that my friend said to me made me feel like I have been a role model to her. She made it seem like the reason she has gotten more in depht with God is a little because of my growing relationship with Him, myself. And by being closer to God she's been able to deal with the heartache she's been going through. That's one of the most amazing feelings in the world; to feel like you are looked up to and admired. And not for beauty, no no, but for my actions and how I respond to life with my Christain prospective on how to deal with it all. Those traits are the ones I want to pour into her and her life. I want my actions and my words to reflect and praise God highly. I want my life to be centered around Christ and all that He has done for me. I want to be a light unto others. I want others to see the light of Christ within me and through that bringing them to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-16 says "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Note to self: Shine the light God has given me in order to bring praise to Him.

The Beginning
Alrighty. So today is the very first blog post for me, ever! Woooo! You should be excited because I have heard by many that my thoughts are quite entertaining. Now, with the fact that I named this first blog post "The Beginning", wouldn't it just be excellent if I talk about just that? Yep, you named it. THE beginning.
God created the heavens and the earth as well as Adam and as well as Eve. He created EVERYTHING here on earth. The trees, the flowers, the mountains, clouds, stars, and sky. God is ballin :)
I recently finished reading an excellent book called Captivating and it was written by John Eldredge and his wife Stasi. Fantastic book and I would recommend it to all women. (Sorry fellas, it's a lady book ;) ) Within I read all about how valuable women truly are, how vital we all are. Eve, and all women, are a reflection of beauty. God's beauty. And we also share with God that desire for relationships. Sure, guys desire that too but not nearly to the extent women do. We were born to mother, to nurture things. God creates life and we get the wonderful deed to bring those lives into the world. Women, we give life. Another trait God gave us that connects us to Him.
You know who hates that we give life? You know the reason Eve Fell? Satan. Satan is the Prince of Death. He HATES us. He hates that we give life for he wants the opposite for all creation. Eternal torment by not only a physical death, but a spiritual death. It's intense stuff right here and scary to think about, but completely true. The serpent lied to Eve and made Eve doubt God. She thought God was holding out on her, but He really wasn't.
Now, I'm not trying to start anything or point fingers but in this book they touched a little on where Adam was when Eve was being tempted. And I'm only sharing this because I had never heard this before. Adam was, in fact, right there. In the Bible it says, (Genesis 3:6) "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate." Now the Hebrew word for "with her" apparently means "side to side" or "elbow to elbow" meaning that Adam was...right there. Does it say Adam protested and told Eve to stop? Unfortunately, no. And all along I had thought, and possibly even been taught that Eve ate it and went and found Adam and made him eat it. Coming across this finding gives me a little more peace of mind with Eve. Just a tad though.
Note To Self: When God tells you not to do something don't think God is holding out on something glamourous, He knows what's best for us and wishes for us all to prosper.
I hope you enjoyed the first batch, hopefully I can make more that possibly make a little more sense. Then again, what do you expect at 12:30 in the morning? Awhh...well, til I type again, God Bless :)
